Bereits seit Ende letzten Jahres gab es Gerüchte, dass Vicarious Visions mit Blizzard Entertainment fusionieren könnte. Dies wurde nun offiziell von Vicarious Visions bestätigt. Demnach bleibt das Studio, das unter anderem für Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 sowie Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy verantwortlich war, zwar in Albany, wird jedoch in Blizzard Albany umbenannt und wird sich von nun an voll und ganz Blizzard-Spielen widmen. Bereits letztes Jahr hatten Vicarious Visions und Blizzard Entertainment zusammen Diablo II: Resurrected auf den Markt gebracht.
